Fun fun news people!
Ok the school I´m working at has a platform that we uses for news, grades, contact and goals and more schoolrelated things with the students and their parents. It´s a complex computersystems with a lot of things for the users to learn. It also I´m afraid to say quit boring to look at. It´s just blue and white with black script; you know the standard colour.
An example on how it usually looks!
I have been a administrator in this system the last three years! And I feel that I first now can actually the system like the back of my hand, and thats nice because I know I´ll be good at easier systems that are like this one and the work I do in this one is easier then it was three years ago. The name is Hjärntorget in swedish and Brainsquare in english (I know it´s a stupid name in english but it makes sence in swedish).
Anyhow back to the project in hand. I got the project from my boss/principal and it was to freshen up the design on the platform and make it a little bit easier for my teachers and other staff. So that´s the bottom of the project. It´s a big project and it´s gonna take some time but it´s a fun project that have touches of the things I learned during my own education. So it´s gonna be an extra learning process. I have decided to give the platform some color and a lot of easy links to easier find our way around the platform.
I started with doing mindmaps on the different things that would be put in the platform, redesign and what had to be built from start. I love me some mindmaps, but how doesn´t. That when it was time to do it live on the platform, I knew what have to be done, so I through everybody out from the different sides on the platform and started to work!
This is the new improved design from me, with a lot of links and color!
